Intelligence Quotient (IQ)

Intelligence Quotient (IQ) is a score derived from one of several different standardized tests designed to assess intelligence. An Intelligence Quotient score indicates a person's mental abilities relative to others of approximately the same age. But not all intelligence can be measured by an IQ test.

The first of Intelligence Quotient was developed by French psychologist Alfred Binet in 1905. He constructed the IQ test, as it would later be called, to determine which children might need additional help in scholarly pursuits.
